Looking for a therapist, can be a challenging first step in healing and personal growth. To be honest, I am a real person who is willing to have hard conversations and help you towards your goals.

A little bit about me…I am a wife, dog mom, and avid beach goer. I grew up listening to stories and pursued my love of story through an educational background in Anthropology- the study of people throughout time (in short). My goal as a therapist is to listen to your story and help you process hurt, through validated methods, to move towards healing. I do not believe that trauma leads to brokenness but rather that trauma offers a unique set of learned behaviors that may no longer be working for your betterment. That is where our work begins. You aren’t alone.

With therapeutic experience in multiple settings, I am confident that we can work through things together. I will meet you where you are and move at a pace that is comfortable, while still challenging you to grow, as change does not come through comfort. In my experiences as a Victim Advocate with Hubbard House in Jacksonville, FL, a Victim Advocate with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s office, an intern at EPIC Recovery Center, a therapist at the CAIR Center, and as a social worker on the Behavioral Health Unit at UF Health St. Johns (Flagler Hospital), I have had many experiences working with a plethora of different crises and mental health conditions.

In my therapeutic practice, I use a combination of; Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Murray Method, skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), sentiments from Mindfulness, and I borrow ideas from Internal Family Systems (IFS). I hold particular specialized training to work with trauma through Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as I am an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Therapist, and Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART). I have found that EMDR and ART allow for the brain to process at the speed of thought rather than talk. Both methods allow for adaptive shifts to happen, all using the power of your brain, resulting in changes throughout all elements of your life.

My specialty areas are trauma of all kinds including grief, loss, sexual assault, and domestic violence. I also work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, addictive behaviors, daily stressors, women’s issues, relationship challenges, and difficult family dynamics.

Please note that while I do work with addictive behaviors in clients, I am not an addictions specialist. Please consider Jackson’s profile if addiction is the main element of life you are looking to work through.

For other questions, or to see if we are a good fit to work together, please consider requesting a 15-minute consultation call, I would love to talk with you personally.
